Yousef Allan founded The Palestine Post in Dundee in 1983. For many years it was the most reliable source of information available to politicians, trade unionists, and activists on the situation in the occupied West bank and Gaza. With Yousef's appointment as Delegate-General  for Palestine to Ireland its publication inevitably became less frequent.

Following Yousef's death in 2001 TUFP and LMEC produced a commemorative issue for use at union conferences. Following an STUC delegation to Palestine later in the year, a further issue was published and distributed at the TUC and Labour Party Conferences.

TUFP now aims to produce at least two issues a year to cover these key Labour Movement events.
